Attend our annual Holiday Fundraiser and help support over 350 military heroes at ASTD’s 2013 benefit for Wounded Warriors Camp Pendleton and San Diego's Career Development Services.

Our silent auction proceeds will be donated to the Semper Fi Foundation, which will specifically benefit the San Diego Wounded Warriors Wounded Warriors Camp Pendleton and San Diego – Career Development Services. This program works with returning military veterans to help them transition back into civilian life, offering career skills such as interviewing, resume-writing, and other career-specific training.

At the silent auction you’ll find terrific items for all ages including artwork, beauty, fitness and sports certificates, food and cooking items, children’s gifts, and more.  It will be a great opportunity to purchase gift items for the holidays as well as for yourself – while knowing that the funds raised are supporting our military men and women.

  • Stroll through the San Diego Air and Space Museum with family and friends.
  • Hear the story of a Wounded Warrior alumna and national speaker – Linda Stanley
  • Speak with other Veterans to learn how they have transitioned into civilian life and  about Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Learn how career development services, programs, and resources help our Wounded Warriors transition from military to civilian life.
  • Enjoy delicious food prepared by chefs at Café Merlot (a bistro located in the vineyards at the historic Bernardo Winery).

Most important – this will be an opportunity for you to say “thank you” to many of the men and women who have served our country.

Wake Me Up Inside

Speaker: Linda M. Stanley, MSN, MSHS

Linda Stanley is Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, a Wounded Warrior Alumni,  national speaker and advocate for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  As an active member of the Iraq Afghanistan Veterans Association (IAVA), she was one of the 25 IAVA Member Veterans who met with over one hundred members of Congress and their staff representatives from the Department of Defense, VA and the Administration to present IAVA's 2012 Policy Agenda.
At this event, Linda will talk about the stigma of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD);  will share her personal story, and help attendees understand what they can do to help support the men and women in the military as they transition to civilian life.

Linda M Stanley served 20 years in the military:  six in the Army and 15 in the USAF.  She was deployed to Iraq in 2006.  She now continues to serve at the Veterans Association in La Jolla, as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
