About the OD SIG:

OD SIG gatherings are informal group discussions led by a senior-level OD practitioner. The discussion leader share stories and insights about their experiences, their backgrounds, how they got started and advanced within the discipline. Discussions are highly interactive. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions. Time is allotted for small group discussions, as well.

Discussion Leaders:


Leslie Solomon

VP of Culture and Talent Planning at Palomar Health, will be co-facilitating the group’s discussion. Leslie is responsible for working with multiple stakeholders to create talent strategies, facilitate organizational change, increase workforce and physician engagement, develop executive and board leadership, build a leadership pipeline, and build a culture of clinical, operational, and service excellence to provide optimal patient experience. Leslie spent six years working as an external consultant leading strategic planning, teambuilding, performance management, and organization assessment interventions. An expert in leadership development, she has worked within several organizations to increase leadership capabilities by designing coaching programs, assessment centers, developing challenging work assignments, and establishing performance metrics to report and track results.



Rick Welebir

Manager of Talent and OD at Palomar Healthcare, will be leading the group’s discussion. In his current position, Rick is responsible for the development and implementation of engagement strategies, succession and talent management strategy, leveraging performance management, coaching, and development strategies to improve performance at unit levels. He manages the organization’s OD projects through all phases in the process.
