Learning and Technology Special Interest Group:

 What's Up with Social Learning

What’s Up with Social Learning?

If social learning is a new term to you, the basic premise is this: humans learn in a social context — therefore, being able to converse and interact with others in a group is important for learning. On the face of it, social learning should be the easiest thing to implement in the workplace. Don’t we always turn to our colleagues when we are stuck? Don’t we WhatsApp or message our not co-located peers for the latest proposal, solution, client inputs? Then, why does social learning become the proverbial stumbling block on every L&D team’s radar? Come to the next Learning and Technology SIG meeting for a lively discussion on what social learning is, how it is implemented with or without social media tools, and what’s needed for success. Bring stories of what is working (or not) in your organization. (Hey – social learning in action!)

See you there!
