Like any conscientious instructional designer, Gretchen starts from a foundation of adult learning theory. But over the last twenty years she’s been challenging herself and her teams to push beyond simply creating learning that is instructionally sound. In this class, Gretchen will share ten filters she uses to push her own design thinking using examples from her portfolio to bring each filter to life.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Learn 10 filters they can use to push their own instructional design thinking
  • Understand how one designer has used these filters in her own work
  • Consider how they might apply these filters in their own instructional

Upon registration you will be emailed call details and access information.

About the Speaker:

Nothing makes Gretchen Hartke more excited than a conference table/jump drive full of source material from a client with one request—take this mountain of information and turn it into something that’s going to help people perform. She approaches most assignments in the same way—begin with the end in mind—which allows her to get knee deep into their client’s content without getting buried.

Gretchen is a results-oriented learning consultant with twenty years of experience. Her areas of expertise include needs analysis, learning strategy, change management, e-learning, instructor-led training, leadership development, sales training, customer service training, team development, and group facilitation. She brings the right blend of logic, creativity, and humanness to every client engagement.

A teacher at heart, Gretchen started her career as a middle school history teacher and then earned her MS in Instructional Systems Technology from Indiana University. As in instructional designer and project manager, she's created learning experiences for organizations like BlackRock, Bloomberg, Levi’s, McDonalds, American Medical Association, Alzheimer’s Association, Coca-Cola, Pfizer, Villanova University, and Walgreens.
