In this presentation we will examine the ways that stereotypes and bias affect our perceptions, and how this prevents us from assisting those from marginalized, minoritized, and underserved communities (with a particular focus on black communities). Together, during this workshop, we will set aside blame and anger, and will focus on the power of inclusion, hope, bravery, and social change.  This is how we will allow us to promote our values of belonging, equity, connection, compassion, and self-reflection to catalyze the transformative personal/organizational change we desire.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Examine the importance of making investments to build and sustain belonging in their workspaces
  • Identify the links between inaction and injustice and the particular effects they have on those from marginalized/underserved communities.
  • Develop strategies to mitigate the effects of personal and institutional manifestations of bias

(R)EVOLVE will break their content into two super exciting, informative and engaging 1-hour webinars.  The first session is a great primer, to build a foundation of understanding for the field of equity/diversity/inclusion (EDI).  Anyone is welcome to attend this session.  The second session is designed to help participants move from "understanding" to "implementing."  If you have previously trained on (EDI) work, this intermediate/advanced session is a good fit.  If you've not, simply attend the first session and you'll be ready to go!

Upon registration you will be emailed call details and access information.
